We had planned to take a last minute trip to Block Island,RI for New Year’s Eve with his sister, brother in law and another couple we are friends with. I had it already set in my head he wouldn’t be doing it till spring so I had no expectations. When we got to the condo we had champagne and started the party. I was about three glasses deep when he went to go shower and said we would be talking a ride around the island. I was up for it but not excited about the below freezing temperatures. His sister was married on Block Island this past July and said she wanted to go to the beach where she had her wedding pictures done. We got in the taxi and our first stop was at the bluffs which is a look out point over the water. We had taken pictures there the past three summers so I figured it was all for the photo opportunity. As we were walking up to the lookout he said “you know how much I love you right” and my response “yeah I know”. When we got to the guard rail he got down on one knee and I was in complete shock and didn’t say anything for about three minutes after. I finally got the words out and screamed yes!!! It was so magical and one of the best days of my life.
