How We Met
Josh and I originally met when we were both dating other people – the first time we hung out we went to a Washington Wizards NBA game with a group of friends that included my then-boyfriend! Our paths parted for a few years as I finished college but we reconnected when I moved back to DC and we both found ourselves single…one drunken night at a bar has turned into four years of adventure and laughter!
How They Asked
The past few months had been stressful. My parents had both been diagnosed with COVID-19, my final semester of graduate school had been moved online, and my graduation had been canceled, so I had been feeling particularly low. When my parents finally recovered (thank goodness!) and tested negative for the virus we felt comfortable enough to go see them. As we were all sitting in the backyard my mom mentioned she wanted to snap some family photos and asked Josh and me to pose with our dog, Champion. After a few snaps, Josh whispered in my ear how much he loved me and then got down on one knee – a total shock! Little did I know Josh had planned to propose weeks ago on a trip to Puerto Rico that got canceled due to COVID-19. Nevertheless, it was so special that my family was able to share in this magical moment with us. I couldn’t have planned it any better myself.
