How We Met
We met in 2014 at young professionals and meetup event. It was love at first site. We started hanging out the next day with friends and soon started dating. I (Caroline) was married for almost 8 years while struggling with anorexia for most of the relationship. After my recovery, we sadly grew apart and divorced. I am the happiest, healthiest, and strongest version of myself I have ever been and am so in love with Barak. In May, I will finish grad school for master’s degrees in mental health and school counseling with the goal of helping others struggling with eating disorders. I could not have done without the support of Barak, family, and friends. 2019 holds so much excitement for me as I begin a new career helping others AND become Mrs. Rutledge! Now, if I could just win the lottery to help us have a wedding! ??
How They Asked
We were at Disney World for 4 days with my parents, sister, and her family for an early Christmas celebration. We had spent a day at the Magic Kingdom and a day at the Animal Kingdom. On our 3rd day, we went back to the Magic Kingdom. Barak asked for my dad’s permission earlier that day. We watched the fireworks show at 9 pm, and after the crowds cleared, he took me right in front of the beautiful castle and proposed!
My parents watched from afar and then helped us recreate the moment in photos, only after 100s of people clapped and cheered from us. It was the most romantic and magical moment of my life! We shared the news with my sister and her family the next morning Breakfast with Chef Mickey and we have been celebrating ever since!
