How We Met
We met unofficially through mutual co-workers at my work. Soon after I started working for the company, Nick got a new job, which never left us much opportunity to get to know each other. A year later, we more officially ‘re-met’ at a mutual friend’s wedding. I was the day-of coordinator, and he was a handsome catch. Needless to say, we hit it off. I told a friend of ours that night that I would marry him one day. Look at us now a little over a year later!
How They Asked
He collaborated with an old co-worker of mine to stage a couple’s photoshoot and created a fake story on how the participation in the photoshoot was to help my old co-worker create marketing material for her photography business. Nick had planned to propose on a weekend when my family would be in town.
We started the photoshoot and Nick had planned to pop the question about 15 minutes into it under these beautiful banyan trees. The photographer set us up in a specific pose for a picture and while I had my back turned, Nick got down on one knee. When I turned around, he asked me to marry him!
Our families both emerged from nearby to celebrate with us and we all went upstairs to the Canopy at the Birchwood where more family and friends greeted us for a mini engagement party.
