How We Met
I first met Seth almost two years ago when he came to help one of my ex-boyfriends (who has remained a close friend) move me out of the apartment I was living in. I was going through an extremely hard time in my life and to say he came into it on the hardest day would not be an understatement. I remembered thinking he was such a nice guy but at that time I was not in a place to be interested in anyone.
We started following each other on social media but neither of us ever reached out. He went on to date other people and so did I. Then over a year later when we were both single, he saw that I was on Mutual and he swiped up. Once we started texting it was like I had known him for years. We texted for a week straight and I can even remember thinking, “When is this guy going to ask me out?” Thankfully he did and the rest is history.
How They Asked
Seth and I had been talking about getting married for a little while. I knew he was ordering my ring but he had told me it wouldn’t get here till the first weekend in June. He then worked with my mom, his mom, and both our families to give me the proposal of my dreams.
He had told me we were meeting his whole family to have family pictures done so I would know to be dressed up. The whole day it was storming on and off and I wondered how we would be able to take outside pictures that evening. We still got ready and went down to meet his parents.
When we got there he even got out of the car to supposedly check to see if his family was there when in reality he was getting a mic put on so that they could record what we said for a video. When we walked down the stairs the rain had stopped. Then as I came around the corner I saw everything set up. I was completely shocked. Everything was so perfect. It looked better than anything I had ever imagined. Seth then led me up the lantern lined pathway to lace and floral backdrop.
That’s where he dropped down to one knee open the ring box and asked me to marry him. I was so excited and nervous I didn’t answer with a yes, I answered with a HECK YES! After the proposal, he also had a lock with our names engraved on it. We were able to put it on a love lock iron backdrop that was at the pond.
Then we threw the keys to the lock in the pond. We also were able to visit with our family that was there to support us and enjoy cheesecake bites, strawberries, and an s’mores bar. It was an instant little engagement party just for us. From beginning to end the night was perfect. I couldn’t have planned a better proposal if I had done it myself.
