Cara and Stefan

how we met

We first met in August of 2010 when I submitted an application to work at the same pet store as Stefan. I ended up taking a different position at dog groomers. So, we did not meet again until October 2014 when I applied again to the same pet store. We did not begin dating until May of 2016 after I left the pet store to work as a Park Ranger.

how they asked

Stefan proposed to me on November 7th, 2019 in the gardens of the Hunting Hill Mansion at Ridley Creek State Park in Delaware County. He got down on one knee holding our cat, Blue, in one hand and the ring in the other. According to him he asked by saying “Cara, would you make me the happiest man in the world? Will you marry me?” But I had been so excited that I kept saying “yes” before he could finish his sentence. It was not exactly a surprise since we had picked out the engagement ring together, but I did not know when or where it would happen. I had asked Stefan for a family photo shoot with Blue at Ridley Creek as my 29th birthday present. We decided on Ridley Creek because it is a special place for us. I had been a Park Ranger there when Stefan and I first started dating. He would often come to visit me at work, bring me lunch, or stop by when my shift was done so we could fish at the creek. We picked our awesome photographer, Kerry McIntyre, because of her beautiful photography and her love for animals. Kerry actually volunteers at the same shelter we adopted Blue from (Kitty Cottage Adoption Center in Norristown PA). So, I knew she would be patient and experienced enough to work with Blue at our shoot.
