How We Met
We met at a small sushi restaurant in downtown NYC. Gideon was eating alone, as he did a lot back then, and decided to come over to say hello. We got to talking (mostly about our love for sushi – in fact, at the time I was doing PR for some high-end sushi restaurants which definitely helped move the conversation forward), and ended up deciding to go out to sushi ourselves a couple of days later! Our first official date was at Sotto – a now-closed 2 Michelin starred sushi restaurant in West Village.
how they asked
My brother has been living in London for work, so we decided to go visit him and my sister in law. We decided to go the weekend of the royal wedding and see the action first hand! My sister in law and I had an idea that it might happen, so we planned the first day in London in a way that allowed me & Gideon to have plenty of alone time. I had booked our reservations to go to the Churchill War Rooms, but we arrived there early after lunch at The Palomar. We sat in the park nearby and discussed our future and then it happened! Needless to say, I don’t remember much from the museum because I was too busy staring at my ring! Afterward, we called my parents in the park and walked by Buckingham Palace. The next day was Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding, so Gideon and I commemorated our engagement in Windsor watching the royal wedding with my brother and sister in law! It was a truly perfect weekend.
