How We Met
We met the modern way—on a dating app! Brad and I are both transplants to Oregon and quickly fell in love over our shared love for the outdoors, hiking, traveling and last but not least, pizza. I truly was not looking for love but with some gentle encouragement from a friend, I said yes to a date with Brad and have never looked back. We both knew pretty early on that this was going to be forever.
How They Asked
Brad is known for often going above and beyond and always having a trick up his sleeve. However, I was truly blown away by the dream proposal he had planned for me. Hiking to Abiqua Falls had been on the top of my bucket list since moving to Oregon and I was stoked when Brad suggested we hit the trail that upcoming Saturday. It was the perfect morning in the Pacific Northwest: not too cold, and miraculously the sun was piercing through the trees on the descent into the falls. We arrived at the waterfall covered in mud and mist and I was amazed at the sheer beauty of the falls.
Admiring the view, Brad pulled me close and I told him I loved him to which he responded: “Do you love me enough to keep me for life?” My heart totally dropped because I knew what was coming. He got down on one knee in front of the most beautiful scene I could have ever imagined and asked me to marry him. I, of course, said yes! Little did I know, Brad had sneakily hired a photographer to capture the best moment of my life! I truly feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have had such a special proposal, but mostly because I have the best partner I could have ever dreamed of.
