How We Met
Anyone who knows us, knows we have quite the story… ups & downs, the two of us have certainly been through it together. Bryce and I met at a pizzeria junior year of High School, we instantly clicked and became the closest friends. We would go on Starbucks dates almost every day after school senior year. He went to Thomas and I was at Schroeder so we would meet up at the end of the day. I was crazy about him, it’s the kind of feeling that is impossible to explain, but I was drawn to him and wanted to be with him every chance I could. We had so much in common and loved the same things. Country concerts became our thing, to this day it is my favorite thing to do with Bryce, it’ll always be the thing we do that brings us back to how we met (our first real date was a concert… just ask my mom and dad how they felt when Bryce picked me up in his old truck.) It is really special when you find your person, who shares the same values, interests, hobbies, who loves and cares about you so selflessly.
We have been together for just about 6 years now, though there has been a few ups and downs and we have tested this love more than once, all that we have been through has helped us grow into who we are together. I wouldn’t change a thing about the past, because we fought for this great love and that’s just real life.
We can be whole on our own, but together we are better. We have grown so much over the past 6 years, but if there is one thing for sure that we know is that our love for one another is strong, and always has been.
When we met 6 years ago in that little pizzeria I knew there was something there between us, but never thought it would lead me to this life with him. Bryce is the most patient, kind and caring individual. I know that he will show up every day as a husband and always be there to love and support our family. The true test of love, “if you love something, let it go, if it comes back to you it is meant to be.”
I believe deep down the day I met him I knew this man would be the one I marry and spend the rest of my life with. We truly are best friends first, and the rest follows.
How They Asked
Bryce had been talking about and teasing an engagement for a while, so I was anticipating it happening soon. We wanted to take a trip to spend time together before he started classes again and I was moving home, being that we were going to be a part for the majority of the next 6 months it seemed like a great time, and what better place than Florida (my happy place).
We planned to spend a day on Sanibel Island, we went to brunch, then headed to Bowman’s Beach to spend the day in the sunshine and relax together, it was a perfect 80 degree blue sky day. After a day spent by the ocean, we decided to drive to the other side of the Island to a restaurant Grandma suggested, The Mucky Duck, which was right on the beach. We had super delicious dinner crab legs and pasta, then Bryce wanted to take a walk down the beach after. We walked until the sun started going down in those moments he got down on one knee and asked, I SAID YES! I was shaking and so overwhelmingly happy. Needless to say, the rest of our vaca was amazing and I was on cloud 9.
I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with my best friend. Florida will always have a special place in my heart in more ways than one…
