How We Met

Haha we hate to admit this but he slid into my dm’s on Instagram! I was living in Los Angeles pursuing my dance career and COry was playing basketball at BYU in Utah which is where I grew up. Over the course of a year and a half Cory had asked me out multiple times but I either was dating someone else or the timing wasn’t right! He made one last effort in February of 2017 by asking if I still had a boyfriend. Luckily I didn’t! I remember thinking to myself, “Wow this guy isn’t giving up!”

We exchanged phone numbers and two weeks later had our first date when I came to Utah!

how they asked

On Thursday, March 29th, Cory was “out of town” for the weekend in Florida for a work conference and I had a photoshoot with my sister and a friend. For the photo shoot, my friend’s dad (@iflyheli) was not only going to fly us in his helicopter during sunset but land on a mountaintop where no one had been! How cool right?

We arrive at the airport, I changed into the first top I was “modeling” for and sent a last-minute text to Cory saying I would call him after the shoot. The four of us get flying and I am in the backseat with my friend Margi. My sister, Kenna up front was filming and Margi’s dad was flying the helicopter. There’s music playing and unbelievable view, I was having so much fun. The pilot mentions he had a special spot for our photo shoot, somewhere no one has been on the very top of a massive mountain. We continue flying and start to head towards this “special spot.”

We started to get closer and soon realized there was someone standing on the peak of the mountain. My honest and initial thought, “Oh no, someone is stuck!!!! Does he need our help?” HAHAHAHA clearly I had no idea what was going on. We get closer and at this point, this “person” is walking towards us. I still thought he was coming towards us because he needed our help. Haha, it wasn’t until we were two feet above the ground that it hit me. IT WAS CORY!!!!!!!

He had roses in his hands and anxiously waited for me to untangle myself between my headset and seatbelt in the helicopter. I literally ran towards him in three feet high of snow and I couldn’t get to him quick enough! We spent a few minutes together soaking it in as he told me what he loved about me and why he wanted to spend forever with me. I was so emotional and so in shock! He got on one knee and asked me to marry him! Happiest moment of my entire life.

Afterwards we got back in the helicopter as a newly engaged couple and flew around for a while. It was so romantic! We returned to the airport afterwards where both of our families were waiting for us! They were all jumping up and down, our mom’s were crying and I couldn’t have wanted it any other way.

It was my dream proposal with my dream guy!
