Brooke and Will's Amazing Marriage Proposal
How We Met: Will and I met three years ago working for Pine Cove Christian Summer Camps where we were counselors together. During our second camp summer the magic happened and he knew he wanted to make his move. After six weeks of waiting patiently for his moment and enduring jokes about us having the same last name, Will asked me on our first date to the drive-in movie theater, and the rest is history!
how they asked: It was Aggie Ring Weekend at Texas A&M, and my best friend was receiving her ring. She invited me to join her family in celebrating with a weekend at their lake house and dinner reservations at the country club. Little to my knowledge, this was a set up Will had been planning for the past month or so. Walking around the side of the house I froze, locking eyes with Will, standing at the top of the two-tiered dock.
After saying a quick “You’re a liar!” to my giggling friend, I made my way down across the yard and up the dock where Will was waiting. Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” was playing as the tears welled. The entire way was lit by candles and adorned with my favorite sunflowers. I caught him off guard with my bubbly, “HI!” as I climbed the stairs. Will took my hands, spoke of how long he has loved me, the moment he knew when he wanted to marry me, and asked me to be his wife from one knee. I quickly shout “YES YES YES!” He slid the gorgeous ring on my finger, and showed me a scrapbook he made of memories we shared. The last page was blank with “Our Engagement” and the day’s date.
Will took my hands again explaining there was one final surprise, as we turned around all of our friends and family cheered making a sparkler pathway for us leading to our engagement party. Hand and hand we walked through the sparklers to the arms of family and friends as the future Mr. and Mrs. Allen!
Here’s to keeping all of my monograms, marrying my best friend, and being #AlwaysAllen
