How We Met
Allen and I met serving tables at The Cheesecake Factory back in 2015 but were just friends for a while. One night a group of coworkers went out to a local bar for some karaoke and drinks which is where our story really begins! We began talking and hanging out more and more which led to our relationship of 4 years before Allen proposed on 5/18/20. We had moved to St. Louis for Allen to get his MBA at Wash U and it was the weekend he was supposed to graduate when the magic happened.
How They Asked
The original plan was for 5/15 with our family and friends around for his graduation but due to COVID, that could not happen. The plan then changed to do it on the campus of Wash U while we would be there to take some graduation photos all dressed up.
He picked up my ring from Shane Company back in December, waiting for the day. The day came, and as it was our turn to take photos. He expressed how much he loved me and what I meant to him while embracing me.
He reaches for his pocket and began to get down on one knee! Honestly, at that point, I completely blacked out and don’t remember much of what he said but I do remember him asking to spend the rest of my life with him. It was like a dream and I cried “Of course!”
