How We Met
Connor and I met about 4 years ago at the river in Arizona. Both of us being river rats, we instantly connected. At the time Connor was 20 and I was 23 so I instantly gave him the friend card. ( what a brat) He also had just moved to North Dakota, so that didn’t make it any easier. For a full year we talked just about every day and our friendship grew stronger and stronger each day. We would talk on the phone every night and we were there for each other for anything and everything. He always knew how to make me laugh and keep me smiling. I got to see him often, with his visits back to California to see his family. After one time visiting him in North Dakota I knew he was the one I wanted to call mine, forever. He shortly moved back to California and we have been tog
ether ever since. I wouldn’t change being friends first for ANYTHING, and I am so glad my friend card was worth the wait. I am beyond excited to marry this wonderful man.
how they asked
About 8 months ago, Connor and I moved to Colorado. One of our favorite things to do is go boating and find new lakes to try out. Being on the water is our happy place.Last weekend we went to Dillon Lake. It is by far one of the prettiest places I have ever been. We were on our boat in the middle of the lake with the most perfect weather and moutain and tree views in all four directions. Connor asked to take a picture with me, we took the “picture” and then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Little did I know, there was no picture and my sister was recording the entire proposal. We were both so nervous and were shaking so bad
that we had to step down back into the boat as we were afraid to drop the ring. With laughs and tears it was by far the best day of my life.
