Chuck and I have been friends for about 5 years. We met while I was bouncing at a restaurant where he was the assigned police detail. We were both in other relationships which eventually landed me in Seattle, and we maintained an awesome friendship. A little over two years ago we both went through breakups which brought me back to MA. Our friendship grew even stronger when I came home, and we eventually began dating. Fast forward a year and a half and we were driving home from dinner one night. He suggested we stop down by the water on our way home (something we always do). I agreed, we drove down to the pond at the conservation area near our house, we threw down the tailgate and sat and chatted. (He’s a game warden, hanging out in the woods is totally normal for us!) All of a sudden he was on one knee and started telling me how there was no one he would rather spend the rest of his life with (and a ton of other sweet things that I wish I could remember but I was so excited!) I obviously said yes! and we’re getting married this September on Martha’s Vineyard!
