How We Met
We actually met when I was in high school and he was a knob at the Citadel Military College of South Carolina. My Father was a new hockey coach and asked me to come with him to their first practice. When I was sitting in the stands, Brian, my now Fiancé, skated off the ice to grab some chairs for players to use for their team picture. We made long eye contact which was breath taking. About a month later I got asked on a date. Making it a double date, my date brought Brian and I brought a friend. At dinner, we made the long eye contact over the table and we instantly knew we were on dates with the wrong people. After we both let our dates down easy over the following month, we became friends for almost a year before we started dating.
how they asked
Brian proposed to me in under the gazebo in White Point Gardens, also known as “The Battery.” This park holds a very special place in our hearts. It is where we first fell in love and held many romantic dates. He had his family fly in from Indiana “to spend Easter with us” and he proposed in front of both of our families and two of my closest friends on Easter morning after church.
He had me thinking we were there to take family photos and during our photo, he read me a letter he wrote to me and had the ring inside a golden egg. When I opened the egg, he took the ring box out and asked me to make him the happiest man alive by marrying him.
