How We Met
Phil previously worked for my father at Millers Ale House, Lake Grove and I worked for Phil’s older sister at Millers Ale House, Deer Park. Our paths never crossed until Super Bowl Sunday 2016. Phil was hosting a Super Bowl party at his house and stopped by the Deer Park location to pick up wings and appetizers from his sister. I saw Phil from a distance and it was immediate love at first sight. I ran up to his sister and said “who is that? set me up!” Unfortunately, Phil was off the market and I was out of luck this time around. Fast forward two months, Phil’s sister approached me at work and said “ok, it’s time to set you & my brother up.”Phil texted me shortly after that, we went on our first date and became inseparable ever since!
How They Asked
The year Phil & I started dating we started our favorite tradition during the most wonderful time of the year, a Christmas themed day in Manhattan, New York. This year, we decided to include both of our immediate families in our tradition. Our plan of the day was to head over to Central Park to browse the Christmas shops, stop by the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree and have dinner at a nearby restaurant that was decked out for the holidays. Little did I know it was about to be the best day of my life and everyone was in on the plan.
As we begin walking through Central Park, we decided to stop for the perfect photo opportunity. Phil & I were told to take a photo. As I began to smile, I noticed Phil reaching in his jacket pocket.
I immediately screamed “what are you doing?!” and he got down on one knee! Phil asked me to marry him and I immediately started to cry. Through my tears, I said the easiest yes ever in my life. Our family was cheering behind us as a photographer captured the special moment. December 21, 2019, suddenly became the best day ever and the Christmas season is more magical than ever.
