Brittany and Kris

How We Met

Kris and I met on Tinder in the spring of 2014. My close girlfriends were actually the ones to ‘swipe right’ on him. We dated on and off for a bit and then made it official in the spring of 2016.

How They Asked

Kris and I were on vacation with our close friends Jeffrey and Julie Gilbert in Bavaria, Germany and were visiting King Ludwig II of Bavaria’s Neuschwanstein Castle. It is a 19th-century Romanesque Revival palace that was built on a rugged hill near Fussen in southwest Bavaria, Germany. This specific castle was the inspiration for Disney’s Cinderella Castle. I had been to this castle multiple times before but could not wait to share and experience it with Kris and our friends. I had been talking about how impressive it was, the history of it and just how stunning it is in person.

We arrived early in the morning on May 28th for our tour of the castle. The castle looked even more magical through the misty rain as we made our way up the hill to the entrance of the castle. We were lined up to start our tour when the emergency alarm went off and we were escorted out of the castle grounds. At this point, we decided to avoid the gathering crowds and hike the twenty minutes up to the Marienbrucke (a bridge built over a cliff in 1845 which has amazing views of Neuschwanstein Castle).

Kris and I took pictures of our friends and they took pictures of us, little did I know Jeffrey was taking nonstop pictures and Julie was filming what was about to happen. I just thought we were taking pictures until Kris started to get down on one knee, I truly thought he was tying his shoe until he grabbed my hand, said some of the sweetest things I’ve ever heard and proposed to me!

It was the most magical moment.

Special Thanks
