How We Met
Christopher and I met “officially” online, we had gone to the same high school together and even shared a Social Studies class together, but never spoke until we matched online, and then we couldn’t stop speaking to one another! We discussed at great length all the things you’re never supposed to talk about when you first meet someone; religion, politics, child rearing, you name it, we talked about it. Before we even met I feel like we knew everything about each other. When we finally did meet it just felt as though it was two old friends catching up.
how they asked
On our first anniversary, Christopher bought me a promise ring, as a symbol of where our relationship was headed, and gave it to me at our favorite park bench, overlooking the Glenmore Reservoir. Then, for our third anniversary, we went back to “our” bench during a light rain, where he pulled out the most beautiful engagement ring and asked me to spend the rest of our lives together.
I sobbed while saying, “of course I will!” That promise ring has been re-set into a wedding band that we will exchange on our fourth anniversary this September. I can’t wait to marry my best friend and take on life with him.
