How We Met: Ben and I met our freshman year of high school. He asked me to the Christmas dance that year but only danced with me once that night. We lost touch for about a year and a half after that night. In October of our junior year, he asked me to prom even though he had a girlfriend (she was too young to go to prom according to our school). I was reluctant since he only danced with me once the last time he asked me to a dance. Over Thanksgiving break, him and his girlfriend broke up and he asked me on a date a few days later. We officially started dating January 1, 2008; he asked me to be his girlfriend when the ball dropped. We have been together ever since!
how they asked: Ben asked me to marry him when we were in London. We had planned a huge trip together that included staying in London with his sister and her husband before going to Italy. On our last night in London, the four of us went for a walk down by the river to do some sightseeing and take pictures before going to dinner. While we were on a bridge, I stopped to take a picture of Parliament and Big Ben. When I turned around, Ben took my hands and got down on one knee. It was a gorgeous day and it was completely unbelievable. I said yes! Afterwards, I found out that while we were walking, they snuck the ring out of Ben’s sister’s purse and into Ben’s pocket. I could not believe that all this happened right in front of me and I had no clue!!!
