How we met: Clay and I had always known of each other. We both grew up in the same town and were friends with each other’s family. There is a slight age difference between us two so he was always the older guy who I had the biggest crush on. I used to drive by his house and beep and his friends would always say, “Clay, there goes your little girlfriend.” One night he was racing dirt bikes and one of my friends happened to be at the race watching him. My friend texted me and told me he won and I instantly messaged him to tell him congratulations. Once he responded I don’t think our conversation ever ended after that. We got to know each other more and more every day and eventually he asked me out on a date. Looking back, it is so evident that we were always meant to be. I thank God everyday for blessing me with the sweetest and most handsome man to call my own forever and ever.

how they asked: The morning of Saturday, April 18th Clay and I’s lives changed forever. The man of my dreams asked for my hand in marriage. He woke me up at 9:00am and told me to rise and shine. He gave me 5 minutes to get ready and off we went. We took his boat out on the river and stopped at his best friend’s secluded island. He made us a fire and we made homemade waffles on a cast iron skillet with his homemade maple syrup. We relaxed for a bit on the blanket and enjoyed the peacefulness and sunshine. No houses, no cars, noone around. It was incredible. Then after we were done cleaning up he got down on one knee and proposed with the most beautiful ring. And little did I know he recorded the whole thing with his gopro which was mounted on the front of the boat. It by far was the best moment of my life. It was so special. So us. I am so excited to marry my prince charming on October 1, 2016.
