How We Met
My fiancé and I grew up in the same town, went to the same high school, and even had some mutual friends but never really spoke. I always thought he was cute but I either was too shy or dating someone else at the time whenever I saw him. Well 3 years after high school and after a long night out, a little help with my friends and some liquid courage, I spotted him in the local bar and went up to him and said “I just broke up with my boyfriend and you’re going to text me” … he never texted/called. Well, it was very embarrassing and I swore I would never interact with him again. Fast forward to about a year later on his birthday where I never thought an Instagram comment would be more than just a comment, I wished him “happy birthday” and we haven’t stopped talking since.
How They Asked
We had just gone on a cruise with his family and we just wanted some alone time for the upcoming weekend so he had asked if I wanted to go to this tour at a local zoo where you got to feed the giraffes (my favorite animal). Without even thinking it was something special, I said: “yeah that would be fun”. We showed up at the zoo and began the tour and after doing the first feeding of the giraffes, I began to walk away with the rest of the tour. When I noticed he wasn’t behind me, I turned around to find him down on one knee.
