How We Met
Ryan and I met at a Christmas party our junior year of high school. I had just gotten out of a relationship 3 months prior and I told all my friends I wanted to be single for a year. At the party we talked, we laughed and had so much fun together. When I got home, my twin sister told me, “You know who you would make a cute couple with?….Ryan!” I told her that I was not attracted to him and it just was not going to work out. Without me knowing, she gave him my number and the rest is history. I became head over heels.

This year for Christmas, I went to Disney World for Christmas with his family. On December 21, 2015 he told me that we were going out to dinner to celebrate our anniversary. Prior to this trip, he told me numerous times that Disney World would not be the place he proposed and that I should not get my hopes up. It took a lot of convincing, but I finally believed him. We were walking to the restaurant when we came across a dock with a couple small boats and a huge yacht. He pointed out the yacht and I jokingly said, “Oh yea, that’s for us! Let’s go!” He laughed and all of a sudden, he turned towards the dock, away from the restaurant, and headed toward the dock counter. I was so confused and all I heard was, “Hi, I am checking in for Grand Yacht One.” The boat took off and he got down on one knee in front of the Disney World fireworks on our own private yacht. When we got back to the hotel room, his parents were there to celebrate along with a bottle of champagne my parents had sent to the hotel room. It was so magical.
