How We Met
We met 6.24.2019 at the dog park near my house in Colorado. It was a daily activity for us both to take our large dogs to the park or on a hike, but there’s a million trails and dog parks in Colorado. When our dogs played together, we started talking and didn’t stop for hours. When the sun went down and we could no longer pretend we were just chatting, we decided to go to the movies that night. The rest is history.
How They Asked
Our first big summer vacation, and we were headed to Key West to spend some time together in the sun. Rob had planned to ask me in August in the sunflower fields, but he had asked for my parents permission in June, and that was his big “mistake”. My parents LOVE Key West so they booked last minute flights to meet us down there and bring him the family ring. Rob took me on a walk the next day down Zachary Taylor Beach. It was beautiful and he told me he had to go to the bathroom and sat me down by a palm tree facing the gorgeous blue water. He was gone no more than 2 minutes but in that time he met with my parents to hand off the ring and as they were all sneaking back up on me, Florida surprised us with the downpour of a lifetime. Rob’s knee hit the sand just about the same time as the first drop, but we didn’t care. It was our moment, and even getting soaked wouldn’t take it away. We laughed in the rain and spent the next two days celebrating with my parents.
