How We Met
Michael and I met in college at St. Edward’s University in Austin, TX; he was a Senior and I was a Freshman. My best friend, also known as his brother, connected us during Homecoming weekend. It was one night dancing out on the town and we have been inseparable since.
how they asked
After graduating college, Michael moved back to his hometown in San Diego to pursue law school. Last year, he graduated with his JD and began prepping for the California Bar Exam. He spent countless hours in the library, including my birthday in July due to it being just a couple weeks before the exam. This year, he told me he was going to make it up to me by planning a surprise for my birthday. The only hint he told me was that we would be going to a nice dinner. On my birthday, he picked me up and began driving… still not revealing where we were going. Then to my excitement, we arrived at the Terranea Resort in Ranch Palos Verdes, CA. Dinner was at 6:00 PM, so he suggested we get ready and walk around the resort before dinner to make sure we took pictures by the ocean before the sun went down. In between taking pictures together, Michael got on his knee and proposed… “YES!” I screamed.
We hugged, we kissed, we cried — out emerged a photographer from the bushes who was there to catch the happiest moment of our lives.
