How We Met
It was back 3 summers ago when I was focusing on myself and not thinking about guys. It was my last summer before college and I just wanted to enjoy it with my friends. We saw each other across a party and stared at one another until eventually we talked. The conversation didn’t go too far and I didn’t think much of it. Until a week later we met again at another party and talked a bit more. Surprisingly enough, the very next night we saw each other again at another party.
We talked in the corner by ourselves the whole night and he asked me out on a date. From the moment we started talking conversation was effortless and being together already felt familiar. We continued going out on dates until eventually he asked me to be his girlfriend. We’ve already been through so much together since then and there’s no one else I’d rather be with.
how they asked
It was our last day of a week full of amazing days in Jamaica and we had a excursion planned that sadly got cancelled. I was pretty bummed about it and to make me feel better Max asked if I wanted to go for a walk with him along the beach. (For anyone that knows me they would know that I absolutely love hot weather, the sun, the beach and strangely enough rocks and seashells. They’re something special to me because my fiancé is in the military and whenever he was away he would bring me back different rocks that he knew I would like, just as a little piece of a place he’s been. Now I keep all of these rocks in a vase.) On our walk on the beach Max asked me to look for seashells with him, that’s when I got serious in to looking to find the perfect one and funny enough it was somehow right at my feet.
I picked it up and couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw my dream engagement ring hidden underneath and turned around to see Max there smiling up at me. When I say I couldn’t believe it, I really couldn’t, I seriously didn’t even think that it could be for me as I proceeded to tell Max “I just ruined someone’s proposal” that’s when he got on one knee and asked me to marry him. Every day since that moment has somehow been even better than the last.
