How We Met
Ryan and I met in 2012 on the football field of our community college. I was an athletic training intern and he was the starting tightened. We exchanged smiles across the field for weeks until we finally gave it a shot, we were inseparable ever since. Ryan earned a full scholarship to play football in Texas, while I was accepted into a Southern California university. We endured and embraced our long-distance relationship for 3.5 years, and truthfully it made us so incredibly strong. After college, Ryan moved back to California where our love soared to new heights. Every year, even when he lived in Texas, Ryan and I celebrated our anniversary in Disneyland!
How They Asked
On Saturday, December 14, 2019, we continued our beloved tradition by heading to Disneyland to once again celebrate our anniversary… but to my surprise, Ryan had bigger plans this time. As we posed for a picture in front of Disney’s neon Christmas trees, Ryan dropped down to his knee leaving me in complete shock and overjoyed! As I said “YES” a thousand times and embraced him, the Disneyland Carolers began to sing “A Wish is a Dream Your Heart Makes” and tears ran down my face. I looked into the crowd and to my surprise saw 20 of my closest family and friends! I still get chills when I think of how lucky I am to have all the people who mean the most to me there to celebrate the happiest moment of my life.
Ryan Carden is the absolute love of my life, he has been since I was 19 years old. He loves me in a way I only thought possible in movies. He is my best friend, my motivation and I can not wait to be his wife.
