How We Met
I met Michael in 2013 while working in Downtown Nashville. We were good friends for a while and, if I’m completely honest, I crushed (hard) first. Michael offered to walk me to my car after work one evening and sparks flew all the way to the parking garage. When he got me safely to my car, we said goodbye and parted ways. Then Michael abruptly turned back around, took me by the hand and (finally) asked me on a date! He just couldn’t take it anymore. After the burgers and shakes, we were inseperable and quickly fell head over heels in love with each other!
how they asked
Michael mustered up all of the courage he had and got down on one knee to propose to me in front of 37 of my beloved musical theater students at CYT Nashville, surrounded by family and dear friends. I was the director of the Spring musical, Beauty and the Beast and after opening night, when the curtain closed, Michael snuck backstage and waited for me to make my way to the stage to congratulate the kids. He was standing there waiting (and shaking) as I wandered to the backstage area. Once the kids realized what was happening, in true drama kid fashion, screams and abrupt sobbing commenced and I said yes (actually I blubbered “of course I will!”), the curtain flew open and tears of joy were shed!
