Brandie and Kevin
How we met: Kevin and I met back in high school. Kevin grew up less than 2 miles away from where I grew up, we are the same age and graduated with each other from the same school. But even though we knew each other back then, we were never anything more than simple acquaintances!
Kevin even spent a lot of time in my neighborhood because a lot of his best friends were my neighbors. But both of us were too shy to make any moves on each other and we never broke the “friend zone barrier” which I absolutely hated!
We eventually graduated, moved on and continued with our lives not knowing what we were missing out on…
But through a lot of small events and little miracles, Kevin and I were reunited 11 years later! It all started with little messages to each other on Facebook and Instagram, but it didn’t take long at all before we were talking to each other every free minute we had!
We spent all day and all night in constant contact with each other and it made it very easy to fall hard and fast for each other!
After our first date, I knew that we were meant to spend the rest of eternity with each other! Every new day that we are together is better than the last!
how they asked: A couple weeks before I was proposed to, Kevin’s sister texted me and asked me if I wanted to join her and other members from Kevin’s family for a “girls night?” I thought Kevin was working that night so I told his sister that I was in! I had no idea Kevin had a different agenda for me though…
The day of the proposal, Kevin took me out to lunch and hung out with me for a bit before he had to “go to work.” So after he left, I got ready and met with Kevin’s sister and other family members.
I have gone out with Kevin’s sister and other family members before so I didn’t think anything was out of the ordinary at all! We went to a nail salon and got manicures and pedicures before going to dinner at a place called Station Park.
Station Park was right next to the nail salon where we were and it has tons of cute shops and nice restaurants that surround a park area which has a beautiful fountain in the middle. So when we were deciding where to go to dinner, it made sense that we would walk into Station Park to find a place!
We made our way to Station Park, and started walking towards the restaurants. As I walked around a corner I saw my brother and his family holding a sign that said, “Our Love Story.” At first, I thought they were there selling something for their kids’ fundraiser or something. But then I saw the rest of my family and the rest of Kevin’s family all holding signs that had cute messages on them! At that point, I knew something special was about to happen!
Here’s what happened next…
