Bethania and Evan
How We Met
Evan and I met through mutual friends who were playing “matchmaker”. My friend’s boyfriend thought his friend and I would hit it off ;)
how they asked
Knowing that I’m a hopeless romantic at heart, Evan planned a trip to Paris for my birthday.
About a month before the trip, he mentioned he had hired a photographer to take pictures of us next to the Eiffel Tower. That made me ( and my girlfriends, of course ) start to wonder whether he was planning a proposal. We arrived in Paris two days before our photo session.
On the day before, ( my birthday), we had the day planned to visit most of the museums on our list.
Our first stop was the Louvre. When we arrived at the Louvre, Evan spotted the huge Ferris wheel at the Place de la Concorde and mentioned how much he wanted to go on it.
Towards the end of the day, Evan remained adamant about going on the ferris wheel. I’m so glad I agreed because he surprised me with a proposal as we reached the top. It was the first time I was able to see the entire city and my first glimpse of the Eiffel Tower in it’s entirety.
All I remember from his proposal speech is the beginning and the end. As I was looking around taking the view in, he said, “The way you feel right now is exactly the way I have been feeling since the first day I met you”.
After that, I cannot remember the rest, (LOL) but I do remember when he reached behind his back, pulled out the ring, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him in Spanish, which is my first language.
He is a man I am proud to stand next to and share my entire life with. A man who reminds me daily of Christ’s love for me.
