How We Met: 5 years ago I was asked to go to a hockey game by one of my best friends to watch her boyfriend play. After the game we went outside to meet her boyfriend to say goodbye and Bobby was standing with him so we were introduced. That night Bobby told everyone I was going to be his future wife.
how they asked: Bobby has a 4 year old son who we just received residential custody of and could not be more excited about. So his best friend’s wife (Jamie Kennedy) who is a photographer asked to take family pictures of us for our Christmas present. I of course wanted to push it off so I could have more time to put coordinating outfits together but Bobby insisted that we had to do it on December 27th and couldn’t change the date on her.
On the day of we were driving to the beach and it was an unusually warm day for December so we didn’t need our coats but Bobby was covered in sweat. I kept asking him if he was okay and what was wrong but he insisted that it was the weather and he was just hot. Upon arrival to the beach we met Jamie and her husband Bryan, Jamie had a bouquet of flowers but said it was for the shoot.
She began taking pictures of the three of us and then asked to take pictures of just me and Bobby. After a few shots Bobby turned to me and asked, “You know I love you right?” I told him yes and he then got down on one knee and proposed. I cried, laughed and even did a little happy dance.
It was the best day of my life and I had pictures of the whole thing to remember it forever. My family portraits turned into engagement pictures. I wouldn’t have asked to have it done any other way!
