How We Met
Caleb and I lived right down the road from each other growing up and actually became friends when we were in Junior High. In Junior High I had a HUGE crush on Caleb. He was always the talk of the school and I was head over heels for him. I would come home everyday and tell my mom how cute he was. One thing in particular I remember are the white DC shoes he wore and those caught my eye! I would write him notes and that was my way of starting conversation. So junior high, right? Finally when I got to high school we started dating and became the best of friends. We have been inseparable ever since and the rest is history! 5 and 1/2 years later, I am about to graduate Texas A&M to become an Elementary teacher and he is working a full time job and we are engaged!
how they asked
Admyer contacted me and asked Caleb and I if we would do an “elopement style” photoshoot for them. Caleb and I felt so honored that they would ask us and we said yes in a heartbeat. What girl doesn’t love dressing up and taking pictures?
Admyer messaged me and told me that since we were helping them with this photoshoot they would take a few “couple photos” of Caleb and I. I was so excited about this. Little did I know at this point Caleb had reached out to them to ask if they would help him propose to me by taking these “couple photos”.
We started our day and went down to the beach. As soon as we got there they were ready to shoot and we stepped out on the set up they had. Admyer starts taking a few pictures and all of the sudden our song “Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls comes on. I ask Caleb “Why is our song playing??? They must know us really well!!” laughing it off.
Caleb begins to say this is why and says “I came across a verse and I want to tell it to you, Proverbs 18:22, He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.” As he was saying this my heart filled with joy and time had completely stood still. Caleb popped the question and I said yes a few times with excitement!!
