Bailee and Jacob
How We Met
Jake and I official met through mutual friends, the year after high school. Funny that we both grew up in the same very small town but had yet to cross paths! It took just one day at Toro Canyon park for us to become inseparable and the rest was history. We moved into the home I grew up in shortly after and eventually moved to Oregon. It took us a couple months initially but we realized that we actually had met just once before at a party,
the year prior. Jake had actually messaged me and asked for my number after but for some reason was unsuccessful the first time around. Less then a year later, we met again and 5 years later, here we are! I can’t wait to marry my best friend!
how they asked
We started our trip to Canada exploring Vancouver, Granville Island, and making our way through Squamish and then finally arriving at Sea To Sky Gondola to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. I think we were both most excited about coming here; all the pictures we had seen were beautiful and we knew it was a place we had to experience for ourselves!
We made our way around the park on a busy a Saturday afternoon with lots of other people who were eager to capture all the beautiful views. We finally arrived at the “chiefs overlook” and patiently waited for our turn to get a picture without anyone else on the walkway, after about an hour later, we finally had our chance! Jake set up the tripod and got the camera focused and ready- I walked to the end of the walkway and by the time Jake got back to me I was a little confused because a “stranger” was pressing our shutter instead of using the self timer. Little did I know, Jake had somehow already included our new friend on what was about to happen. We posed for a couple pictures and before I knew it, Jake was on one knee, trembling, and asking me to spend the rest of my life with him! This was the best moment of my life so far; knowing I get to call him home forever!
