How We Met
We met through a mutual friend, his pastor’s daughter. We had our first phone conversation on Sunday, June 21, 2020.
How They Asked
On Friday, September 18th, I had planned to visit William in GA for the weekend. After I finished work that day, I got in the car and headed GA. While on my way there, he called me and we talked about the usual (how was your day, how was work, how far are you, etc.) and even talked about our past relationships and why things did not work out. He said that someone was knocking at his door and he would call me back. When I arrived at the hotel, I texted him and told him that I had made it. He came outside but he was dressed up. (This was a little confusing to me because earlier he had told me that he had finished working out. So in my head, I was thinking if you just worked out, why are you dressed up?) When we got to the hotel room door, he told me that I needed to close my eyes because he had a surprise for me inside. (I’m thinking he had flowers or something inside… why do I need to close my eyes? Honestly, proposal never even crossed my mind.) He led me to the middle of the room and then told me to open my eyes. When I opened my eyes, he was down on one knee! “Will You Marry Me?” was spelled out with red rose petals on the bed. There was a huge “I Love You” balloon and smaller red balloons at the top of the bed. There were also red rose petals and red candles all over the room. He also had placed red stemmed roses on both night stands as well as the top of the bed. After crying for about 5 minutes (literally), he got back on his knee again (lol) and asked me to marry him. Of course, I said: “YES!” We were engaged less than 3 months from the first day we started talking.
