How We Met
I met Grant when we were younger. We started attending the same church when we were in fourth grade. In the summer of 2015 we both worked at our churches summer camp. During that time Grant asked me for my number and we stated to text back and forth. Grant asked me out on July 16, 2015 and haven’t looked back!
How They Asked
So me and Grant had discussed getting married for over a year but since we were both still under 18 we didn’t go into min detail when we talked. This year we made our plans for after high school and that was when we decided to get married before we left for our intended plans this fall. I knew Grant would propose but I had no clue when or where. It just so happened that we were going to Disney World in the beginning of January with his family. I figured he might pop the question while down in Florida however he told me straight up that he would not! So one night in Florida his parents told us that they had a surprise for us later that night and to get really dressed up. His mom even picked out my outfit and told me to curl my hair! Later that night we went to Disney’s hotel the Grand Floridian and were walked to a private boat for us and his family. We were told that we would get a private boat tour of the different Disney hotels and end the ride with watching Magic Kingdoms firework display (which is my favorite part of Disney.) We finally stopped for the fire woke display and I noticed that Grant was shaking but I did not think anything of it because it was very cold on the water . As the display went on my favorite Disney song, How far I’ll go from the movie Moana. Grant then stood up called my name and started crying. He told me that he has been waiting for just the perfect time to do this and how he thought right now was the most perfect spot. He proceeded to get down on one knee and ask me to marry him! Of course I said YES while the tears ran down my face as well. To say the least Disney will forever be magical to me and Grant.
