how we met
Unofficially we spent most of our childhood in the same elementary school but, we didn’t officially meet until we were 15 and worked at the same summer camp together. We were in the same friend group and would hang out almost daily. Toward the end of the summer, he decided to tell me how he felt about me and I awkwardly turned him down. We went to separate high schools and during senior year he (claims) that he was finally over me. Long story short, we ended up at the same high school graduation party in the summer of 2010 (where I may have indulged in one too many drinks) and asked him if he wanted to be my summer fling before we left for separate colleges. Clearly that didn’t work because we’ve been together ever since!
how they asked
Since we first started dating we have watched the movie Love Actually every year at Christmas time (9 total). So, one night my door bell rang and there he was reenacting one of the most famous scenes of the movie holding cue cards that described our relationship from the day we met. Ending with him getting down on one knee.
