How We Met
Jacob and I went to grade school together and hung out with the same group of friends. Senior prom came around, and to my surprise, we were named prom King and Queen. Summer of 2015, after graduation, we started to hang out quite a bit, and that’s when he asked me to be his girlfriend.
how they asked
Jacob goes to a University 2 hours away, and I commute to college while living at home. He had Friday off, so I asked if he would like to meet me for lunch during my break. We have been wanting to do this for quite awhile but the timing never matched up. So, on Friday, he met me in the lobby of my school and asked if I would want to go for a walk around campus, show him around, and then go get lunch. We went to my car to put my stuff away, and I started to complain about how cold it was. He asked if I still wanted to go for the walk, and thank goodness I said yes because it ended up being the best walk of my entire life. I started showing him around and telling him about each building and what it was for. My campus has two community colleges on it, there is one side with my schools’ buildings and the other side with the opposite schools’.
We started walking towards the other school and he kept asking me if I’ve ever been in their buildings? I said, “No, I don’t go to this school, why would I go into those buildings?” This went on for quite a few minutes, and I became so confused as to why he was taking me that way. We got to the top of the stairs at one building, facing a pond; and all of a sudden he reached inside his jacket, pulled out a red box and got down on one knee, asking me if I’d marry him.
I was completely shocked, no words coming out of my mouth, just shocked! He asked me again, and of course, I said “YES!” I would not stop asking if the whole thing was real; he then proceeded to tell me that our friend, who happens to be a photographer, was on the other side of the pond capturing the WHOLE thing! I look over, and there she was! I still can’t believe that a simple lunch date turned into the best day of my life!
