How We Met
Zach and I met online on Hinge during quarantine in March 2020 but weren’t able to meet in person until June 18th, 2020 due to everything going on in the world. Finally, when we were able to have our first date it took us to multiple locations talking the night away. This led us to have many dates shortly after. With covid restrictions still affecting what we could do we had to be creative with our date ideas since many places weren’t open. We went to a driving range, had a beach day, and went kayaking. After a month and a half, he met my family in Bay Harbor then Zach took me to meet his entire family the next weekend over in Lake Huron. We have been inseparable ever since. With both our love for travel we have been to New Orleans, Hawaii, California, Las Vegas, Florida, and North Carolina which only made our relationship stronger.
How They Asked
Our travels took us to Banff, Canada. Zach has been before and I have heard how magical and special this place was to him so going here together was going to be our best trip yet. We planned a day to go and take photos by Lake Minnewanka and I had my suspicions that a proposal could be coming during this trip but Zach the morning of was very calm and collective so I thought I was overthinking things and just went along with the things we had planned for the day. We arrived at LakeMinnewanka and immediately Zach said we were in the wrong spot and went to check his phone. Little did I know he was texting a photographer who was waiting for us in a certain location.
We then made our way to the correct spot where the photographer was taking pictures of another couple so in no way I thought he was for us. Zach took me up to a rock that overlooked the whole lake and there he proposed and it was the most magical moment. He planned everything out so perfectly, that I felt like I was living in a fairytale that whole day. One of my favorite things is tea and he surprised me later that day with afternoon tea at the Fairmont hotel so we could toast to being newly engaged with champagne.
