How We Met
Matt and I met at our first job, McDonald’s, at the age of 17. For the first couple years of knowing each other we were just friends; however, at the age of 19 that all changed. In late October of 2012 we reconnected and Matt made sure I knew how much he wanted me and wanted us to be together. It didn’t take long for the two of us to fall in love and realize we would spend the rest of our lives together. Over the last 4 and a half years we have become an amazing team always supporting each other through new adventures and challenges. He would do anything for me and I for him. To find a real true soul mate and best friend is an amazing gift that I am forever grateful for. He has made all of my dreams come true and I know that it will only get better and brighter from here!
how they asked
May 11th, I woke up knowing it was going to be the best day of my life so far. I had spent years working towards my degree in Nursing and it was all going to pay off. I was going to walk across that stage and receive a diploma that represented all of the challenges, tears, and hard work I had endured. Matt knew how important this day was to me. He had been my main support system, and felt the stress himself. He would joke about me refreshing my grade page the day after a big exam, but did so himself after I cried thinking I had failed it. This day was more than just important for me, but also for us. When my name was called and I walked across the stage I had no clue what was about to come next.
In front of the whole class and all of our families he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I’ve heard stories about the world stopping in a moment like this, but I never imagined it actually happening. In that moment the world stood still- I could hear the cheers, but all I could see was him. He made the biggest day in my life 100x more special and important!
