How We Met
Jeff and I were both signed up for Match.com. Never did we think we would find out soulmate on that website, but we did. Our first date was so natural. It was like we had known each other for years. Throughout the date there was not a moment of silence. It was filled with laughing, smiling, and flirting. I specifically remember connecting over our fear of ferris wheels and love of video games. We had so much in common and from that date on I knew he completed me. We moved in together about a year later and never had I felt such a deep connection with anyone in my life. We truly are the same person and it is just so easy to be with him.
how they asked
Jeff and I planned to have a romantic weekend getaway at Crystal Springs Resort and Spa. I was most excited to stargaze with him because we had wanted to for years. In preparation for our weekend, we went shopping for our fancy dinner at the resort. While shopping, I found the most beautiful dress and tried it on. It was perfect, but the price tag was not. It was a bit out of my budget. When I turned around, Jeff took the dress and bought it for me. He is the perfect gentleman. He told me he wanted me to feel beautiful that weekend, and I did. Fast forward to November 12th. I was so excited to finally wear my new dress Jeff had bought for me. After I was all dressed and ready for dinner, Jeff told me that I was the most beautiful women in the world. He told me he had something for me to jump start our romantic weekend together. Jeff had handmade a large heart box and when I opened it, it had 12 handmade pink roses.
Each pink rose had a reason why he loved me. I bawled my eyes out. It was the most beautiful thing anyone has ever done for me. I didn’t think the day would get any better, but it did. Then, we went to dinner. After dinner, I was so excited to finally go for our romantic walk and stargaze with Jeff. We finally found a beautiful spot to look at the stars. That’s when Jeff pulled a piece of paper out of his jacket. He was watching tears stream down my face while he read the most beautiful poem that he wrote called “The Story of Us”. I was impressed that he wasn’t even reading off the paper, he memorized the whole thing. After the poem was done, Jeff got on one knee and gave me one last rose.
This time the rose was white. I read the rose and it said “Will you marry me?”. I was crying and I couldn’t believe it! Before he even gave me the ring, I jumped on him to hug him and I continued to cry. While I was hugging him he said, “But, you didn’t even look at the ring! I have a ring.” We both laughed and he put the most gorgeous ring on my finger. In the distance, we saw flashing lights. There was a photographer capturing the moment. When Jeff asked my dad for my hand in marriage, he was so excited and wanted to see it. So, my father hired a photographer to capture the moment and will will now have it forever. I couldn’t have dreamt of a more romantic, thoughtful proposal. He is my prince charming, my one and only, and the love of my life.
