How We Met
Jason and I met at the end of our freshman year of high school. We went to two different high schools so we met through a mutual friend. I friended him on Facebook and after a few days, he sent me a message. We talked so much on Facebook that he finally asked me for the number. His goofy personality, big heart, and ability to make me laugh so easily was what persuaded me to give him my number. We spent the rest of my freshman year talking every day.
We would also go to each others sporting events, he played soccer and I played volleyball, to spend time with each other and get to know each other even more. The whole time we were getting to know each other Jason kept asking me out. I always thought it was too soon but he always responded: ” When you know, you know.” That’s another thing I love about him, he knows what he wants and goes after it. Finally, he wore me down and I let go of my doubts and on May 23, 2013, I agreed to be his girlfriend and I never doubted anything when it came to him again. It’s been the most amazing adventure filled 5 years ever. He is my best friend and the man of my dreams.
how they asked
I am a Disney fanatic. It’s not uncommon that you will hear me listening to Disney music in the car, quoting a line from Disney, or watching a Disney movie. I have always wanted to go to Disney but it never worked out that I could go with my parents, so Jason made plans to take me instead. He planned the whole thing and put a lot of thought and effort into the trip. We went to all the parks, rode all the rides, some more than once (Buzz Lightyears Space Ranger Spin, we’re very competitive) and ate way too much. If that wasn’t enough excitement he made reservations for us at Be Our Guest Restaurant because Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney movie.
The day he was going to propose he was so antsy and jittery and hardly ate anything, and if you know him that’s not like him at all. After spending the day in the park we went back to the room got all dressed up and headed to the restaurant for our reservations. Once we were all checked in we explored around the restaurant (which if you don’t know is made to look like the castle in the movie). Jason took me over to he Beauty and the Beast mural and said we should take some pictures before we ate. He handed someone his phone and while we were getting ready to take pictures he turned and looked at me and started saying that I had no idea how much he loved me.
The next thing I know he is on his knee and asking me to spend forever with him. It was a complete and utter surprise, I couldn’t believe I got the trip of my dreams and the man of my dreams. It’s crazy how much I love him! It still feels unreal and I’m in awe that I get to marry my best friend! After he proposed we called all of our family even though they already knew because he asked for my parents permission and blessing before he even asked me. That night we enjoyed an amazing dinner, Happily Ever After buttons, “Grey Stuff,” and fire works in the park to close out the most amazing day ever in the happiest place on earth, with the love of my life.
