How We Met
We started talking during a hurricane! We were texting back and forth and decided after it passed to meet up at a close restaurant to both of us. We were both nervous to actually meet in person but it was perfect. We didn’t want the night to end, so after drinks and dinner we walked down the way to a wine bar and talked even more. We then spent the next Saturday and Sunday together going to Farmer’s Markets, Shem Creek and down the Waterfront Park Pier in Charleston. That’s where I fell in love with him. And that’s where he proposed a year later.
How They Asked
I teach theatre at a high school and that night was the fall play. We were already dressed up and made plans to get something to eat after. This is all normal and I didn’t have a clue. I thought it was a nice surprise that we went to a really nice restaurant for dinner and drinks but didn’t think much after that. Then we drove to the pier where we spend our 2nd date just to walk down and relax. We got to a nice spot that overlooked the water and stopped to talk a little bit. That’s when he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him and I immediately said yes.
