How We Met

I was a true believer in the quote “everything happens for a reason.” I was invited to a last minute birthday party that I did not plan on going to. I was encouraged to attend the party and so I did. My fiancé and I met through family that were at that same party. We had quite a distance between each other and we did not let the distance stop us from meeting each other. We spoke to each other for a few weeks over the phone and decided it was time to meet each other in person and from there on it was history.

How They Asked

The proposal was a surprise and for sure surprised me. The plan was for us to go out to dinner with our families and nothing more than that. I knew something was going on that night when my soon to be fiancé went to his car and so I asked him “is everything okay?” and he replied “of course.” Shortly after he came back inside and everyone looked over to him and I remember his brother asking him if he’s ready. Next thing I see is my fiancé getting down on his knee and proposing to me. I was in complete shock and just stared at him in awe.
