How we met:
Anton and Martina met five years ago while he was visiting her office for a job interview. She is an executive assistant and he is a commodity sales manager. They live in Switzerland, and as they are not native English speakers I will paraphrase some of the details of their courtship and proposal as their photographer. Although they’d been talking about getting married for some time, Martina had no idea Anton would propose on their trip, much less hire a photographer to document the whole thing.
how they asked:
The original date that Anton had planned to pop the question ended up being a rainy day. Fortunately, I had had some flexibility and we changed plans last minute to the following day. After a morning touring the 9/11 memorial, Anton planned a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge and told Martina that they would have a fancy lunch reservation in Brooklyn. On their first date they listed to the song “Empire State of Mind” by Alicia Keys. Because of this, taking in the Manhattan skyline and walking over the Brooklyn Bridge was all the more special and emotional for Martina.
After crossing the bridge, they walked up to the DUMBO pier to have a better look of the skyline and take some selfies.
Anton let her enjoy the views first and after he could tell that she’d had her fill, he popped the question.
When back in Switzerland they celebrated over dinner and drinks with family and friends. Their wedding is coming up soon in November 2015.
