How We Met
David and I met on the first day of EGR 1200, a freshman Intro to Mechanical Engineering course at Villanova University. Nervous from first day jitters, we sat in opposite corners in the back of the classroom. That was until the professor told us to move up towards the front, and he placed David and I next to each other. We were fast friends, working as partners for class projects and helping each other with homework. We started to talk all the time, and we really enjoyed joking around with each other.
The following semester, David and I had our first official date at Tuscany Pizza at the mall. By the second date, I was sure that I had found my soul mate. We stayed up all night talking out getting married, and our future life together – we were hooked and have been inseparable ever since!
As the saying goes, “when you know, you know,” and I certainly knew that I had found my best friend for life. We spent two summers working on Cape Cod in Massachusetts, and our love grew stronger. We will be getting married on Cape Cod, since it holds such a special place in our hearts.
David and I will be graduating from Villanova University this Spring, and we are getting married in July. We had our engagement photos taken at Crosby Landing Beach on Cape Cod. Our wedding theme is “Two Less Fish in the Sea!”
how they asked
David and I walked hand in hand along the picturesque pathways at Walt Disney World’s Port Orleans Resort. A slight drizzle had started, making the cobblestone pathways glisten. As we huddled together under the umbrella, we admired the beautiful fountains on the resort grounds, the fresh flowers, and the wooden bridges that crossed a small river.
David and I had paused to check our dinner reservations, when a beautiful horse drawn carriage appeared. Much to my surprise, the carriage driver pulled on the reigns and stopped just in front of David and me. Before I knew it, David was down on one knee.
He reached for a beautiful gold ring box, told me how much he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me, and then asked me if I would be his princess! I said YES, and we were cheered on by Disney staff members and guests.
Naturally, by that point I was crying tears of joy, and I could not stop embracing David. We shared a kiss in front of the carriage, and enjoyed a beautiful ride around the resort grounds. David topped it off with a pair of Minnie Mouse Bride Ears, and my mother sent a pair of Minnie Mouse Engagement Ears. It was certainly the most magical evening of both of our lives, and our dreams really did come true!
And so begins our Happily Ever After!
