How We Met
Matthew and I met during English class during our sophomore year in college at DeSales University. We were assigned a project that required a presentation and I was the first person give a presentation in our class. The following day, he approached me while walking to class to “ask for my number to help him with his presentation” he would soon have to give, although he needed no help at all I later learned.
We became study buddies as we were both studying in the sciences (myself in the physician assistant program and he in biology to later attend medical school). We both grew a quick connection and two weeks later he asked me out to our first date and the rest is history!
how they asked
Matthew asked me to go to NYC for the day to meet up with one of his childhood friends and his girlfriend that lives in the city. We took the train and spent the morning in Bryant Park before planning to meet up with our friends in Central Park. While walking through Central Park, we stopped at the fountain we always liked to visit and he popped the question amidst a crowded but beautiful day in the Park, just about 5 years after asking me to be his girlfriend there. I come to find out that there were never any actual plans with our friends; however, he did surprise me with having our immediate families be there to watch the whole thing.
They all started cheering on the bridge that overlooked the fountain and we were able to immediately celebrate with our loved ones. He then wanted our families to walk to St.patricks cathedral, where we all said some prayers to ask for many blessing on our future marriage. And lastly, we made it to a dinner reservation for us and our family! The day was magical and he made me feel so special and loved and the smiles never left our faces! My sister was actually able to capture this photo and my mom was able to video some special moments on her phone that I was able to piece together into the video that is linked above!
