How We Met
I met Terry on Tinder in January, 3 weeks after moving home to Montana. We met at a local coffee shop, The General Mercantile for our first date (which lasted 7 hours). I told my Mom two weeks after our first date that I wanted to marry him.
How They Asked
Terry and I talked early on about marriage, and he took me ring shopping so we could find my perfect ring. We found a gorgeous blue diamond ring in September, and he asked me if I wanted a surprise proposal, if I wanted it big or small. I just told him to surprise me, but not make a big deal. The day after he picked up the ring, he took me on a walk through downtown, going to the library and stopping for ice cream, and then casually asked me if I wanted to get a drink at the General Merc. I said yes, and we got drinks. I sat at one table, and he asked if we could move.
He took me back to the table where we had met in January, made small talk until our drinks arrived, and then made a nice long speech about his love and our future, and got down on one knee. I burst into tears, and said yes, of course. My parents were vacationing in France, and I couldn’t call them. I was overwhelmed and so darn excited, that the first person I told was my high school English teacher who happened to be there. I can’t wait to marry him and spend the rest of our lives together!
