Anna and Connor
How They Asked
When I woke up it was a regular Saturday. I thought that we had plans to go out to dinner for a family birthday and I had NO IDEA what was really in the works.
Before “dinner” we pulled off at the property so Connor could show me some clearing he had done earlier in the week. He was acting funny and I just thought it was because he was excited to show me what he had done. We hopped on the tractor together and headed back to the spot on the property where we have plans to build our first home.
He told me to hop off the tractor for a second and when he both got off he got down on his knee and until the last minute, I sincerely thought he was tying his shoe.
On the same dirt where we will someday build a home, he got down on his knee and asked me to marry him.
After he popped the question and placed the ring on my finger (tears tears tears) I noticed our photographer coming out from the trees and trucks filled with our immediate families pulled in honking down the driveway.
We then had a champagne toast and shared some special moments with both of our families. I was told we would be having a family dinner to follow and we loaded up and headed to Connor’s parent’s house.
I was so surprised and felt like I was dreaming. I remember asking my now fiancé when we got in the car “Who knew about this!? Did everyone know but me?” I began asking “Did Devynn know? Did Audrey know? Did my friends know?” And he just smiled.
When we started pulling up to his parent’s house I noticed many familiar cars parked up and down the street. When we entered the house we were surrounded by so many people we love and we were showered with congratulations. The house was so magically decorated Disney and we spent the whole night celebrating with some of our very favorite people. We drank champagne in Minnie and Mickey ears and there were even fireworks.
The first time he asked me to be his girlfriend he was 12 and here we are 24 years old and just a few months away from becoming husband and wife. I am so excited to marry my best friend!
