How We Met
We met on March 23rd of 2018. We instantly bonded over an older couple that was dancing in risque fashion at our local bar. LOL. Less than 2 weeks after that he had asked me to be his wedding date while I was shopping in Macys and I literally fell to the floor because at this point I was already obsessed. That same week he told me I’m his next girlfriend and that he was already in love with me. I had just gotten out of a 4-year relationship so we had a mutual understanding that I wanted to take things slow.
We could only go so slow & on July 13th, 2018 he had asked me to be his girlfriend before a couples dinner. For the next 3 months we literally only spoke about how lucky and in love we were. The “honeymoon” stage rolled over into a beautiful, mature, trustworthy, relationship, and we’ve continued to grow in the best way possible since.
How They Asked
November 27th, 2021 was the best day of my life thus far. It was his niece’s 1st birthday and we had a plan to go celebrate at Angelinas Tottenville in Staten Island. When he arrived, his sister mentioned that she wanted to snap some pictures of us as a Christmas gift for his grandfather who is currently in the hospital with Covid. We walked to the back and started taking beautiful pictures on the water. I ran over to his sister to make sure the lighting was okay, which I now know they both wanted to kill me for doing LOL.
While taking a few more pictures he whispers, “Kiss me,” and as I turn around and grab his face I instantly feel his pulse beating a thousand miles per minute, practically beating out of his body. “So you’re my best friend in the entire world…” and cue blackout. I don’t remember a thing. Not seeing him down on one knee, not a word he said, not even seeing the ring for the first time, nothing. I somehow subconsciously made it through, had called all my friends and family, had said yes and before I knew it we were on our way back to our place and had 60 people waiting to celebrate us. He surprised us all. My aunts, uncles, cousins, & friends, it couldn’t have been a more perfect night. AND THE RING IS INSANE. The prettiest ring I’ve ever laid my eyes on.
