How We Met
A common friend passed Jaimin’s contact information to me when I was heading to CU Boulder from India to study for my Masters. I reached out to him over Facebook to ask for his advice as he was already in the same program for over a year. That’s how we started talking and we hit it off right away! I don’t think we were ever friends. It was always something more than that. We met for the first time at Denver International Airport as I landed with a bunch of fellow grad school newbies and he was there with a large group of seniors to receive us and make us feel welcome in a new country!
How They Asked
Fast forward to 5 and a half years of being in love with each other.. Jaimin and I decided to take a trip to Maui for my birthday. He has always been a big planner and loves planning trips and activities for our vacations. Before he left he brought me a beautiful white dress as a birthday gift. Naturally, he planned for us to color coordinate on the day of my birthday. To begin the day, he had planned a beautiful 2-hour boat ride on a gorgeous sailboat. So I dressed up in the pretty white dress, while he was in a beachy white shirt and we set sail off the beautiful coast of Maui. Some time into the boat ride, he asked me to stand up so we could take some pictures. As I stood up and looked around, there he was on one knee with a gorgeous ring and the most beautiful words that he practiced and put together to ask me to marry him.
It was the most beautiful surprise! Of course, I said yes! Best day of our lives!!
Behind the scenes, Jaimin coordinated with ‘Engaged on Maui’ who helped him plan the day down to the T. Every little detail was so well thought of. The location had to be by the water but private – hence the boat.
I love sweets and desserts so we were served banana bread, fruits for breakfast and champagne, and an array of desserts to celebrate the engagement! We even had a one-hour engagement photo session with Amber who was absolutely amazing to work with. We are so happy with how the day and the photos turned out!! :)
