Angel and Steve

How We Met

Steve and I have known each other for as long as I can remember. Although we never actually talked, we new quite a bit about each other since we lived only a street away and took the same school bus. But it wasn’t until the summer of 2010 that we started dating. It was the best summer ever and we were not looking forward to the next one since it would mean long-distance for us. The original plan was for me to leave Timmins to attend Laurentian University, and Steve would stay in Timmins and attend college there. But last minute, Steve decided to submit a college application in Sudbury to join me! We’ve been inseparable every since! We are now planning our wedding that is coming up in only 9 months! I cannot wait to marry my high school sweetheart and best friend after 6 years together.

how they asked

Fast forward a few years later… This summer we celebrated our five year anniversary in Europe with a ten-day trip in Ireland and England. On our third day in Ireland, we started off our morning at a cute little bakery near our hotel. We then carried on with our day by visiting the St-Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin Castle, Trinity College and finished off by locking our love on the famous Ha’Penny Bridge. Around 2pm, Steve insisted we walk back to the St-Patrick’s Cathedral to go look at the garden that we had missed in the morning. At first I was hesitant since my feet were killing me! But then I told myself “seeing this beautiful garden with the fountains and the flowers in Ireland, is a once in a life-time chance”. So we walked back to the Cathedral and admired the beautiful view. After taking lots of pictures (since it was SO beautiful), I put my camera down and turned towards Steve. I could see that he was holding something in his hands and sure enough, it was a ring! It was so special to say “YES” in Ireland on our five year anniversary!
